Warsaw - food and drinks places - trendy but far away from tourists

After visiting the Old Town in Warsaw you might have gotten hungry. If the gofres or zapiekanka (long baguette sandwich normally with mushrooms and melted cheese) will keep you alive for some time and you don't want to eat in some of the overpriced places around the Old Town with other tourists, you may choose to direct yourself to ul. Poznańska. It does involve some trains - if you are in the Old Town, but it is quite near to the Central Railway station, 8 minutes walking from Marriott hotel (on top of which you can drink drinks enjoying the view over the whole Warsaw; an average drink 23 złote - about 5 euros).

On the Poznanska Street you can find some new trendy places to hang out in. In "Tel-Aviv" I recommend the mango smoothie for breakfast, in "Beirut" you can enjoy the variety of vegetarian food  and in "Leniwiec" you can finish your day with a few Ciechan miodowy (a beer with a taste of honey. Delicious!).

It is not necessary a "typical polish food", like pierogi (polish dumplings), golonka (knuckle) or barszcz z uszkami (borscht with mini dumplings), but it is a recommended place for vegetarian who are tired of eating salad as the only vegetarian option in the "typical polish restaurants", which promote rather meaty and heavy dishes.

On the website www.yelp.pl you can write what you are looking for, like for example "pierogi" or "tani obiad" (cheap lunch) and it will find for you a lot of options, with comments of other users and the map where all the venues are placed.
